We arrive at 5 pm on Friday and will leave by about 9 am Saturday morning.  Don't forget that this is also our Pack Meeting for October. You don't want to miss the scouts performing skits and the fun campfire songs (also our new Bobcats will be awarded their patches). The entire family is invited for all the fun. Join us for our cookout, games, and treats – rain or shine.  Food and drinks will be provided by the pack. All are invited to camp overnight, but if you cannot stay overnight please join us for the pack meeting and campfire...

1st Pack Meeting of the Year!

Welcome back, scout families! We kick off our scouting year with the first Pack meeting on Monday, August 26th at 7pm in the Social Level. (Pack meetings are for ALL cub scouts, 1st - 5th grade.) This Open House will have some info for kids coming to check out our Pack, but will mostly be a fun time: C.A.P.O.W. (Chemistry and Physics on Wheels) will visit with a science show of pops, bangs and flashes. Don't miss it!

To see where St. Columbkille is located, click here. The Social Level is the lower level, below the church; enter from the south doors.

February 3rd is Scout Sunday!

Please join us at the noon Mass on Sunday, February 3rd as we celebrate Scout Sunday and award our scouts who have earned religious emblems (Light of Christ, Parvuli Dei).  The presentation will take place during Mass this year (no reception to follow).  Plus banners from Parvuli Dei scouts will be displayed on the pews.  Here are some notes regarding the event:
  • Light of Christ recipients should sit in front 2 pews on the left while Parvuli Dei recipients should sit in the front 2 pews on the right.  A few leaders and parents should be seated among them to keep them focused throughout Mass.  Family members can fill in behind the boys.  Scouts not receiving awards may sit anywhere in the church with their families.
  • All scouts and scout leaders should be dressed in the CLASS A uniforms.
  • Scouts and Scout family members will be asked to participate in the Mass (i.e. bring gifts, be altar servers, Eucharistic Ministers)
  • The religious emblem awards will be blessed just before the final Blessing.
  • Immediately after Father gives the Final Blessing our scout leaders will approach the altar with the awards.  The religious emblem scouts will then file out of the pews like they are going up for communion and receive their award.  Then the scouts will return to the pews and remain standing.
  • Scouts should stay in the pews after church so parents can take photos
The religious emblem program is a wonderful and meaningful family activity; please help us congratulate these scouts!  It is great to see all the scouts in uniform at St. Columbkille, so please attend :)  Thank you.

Winter Lock-in on Friday 1/11

We have decided to postpone the Pack Ice Skating event originally scheduled for this Sunday (1/6) due to too many upcoming activities.  With the Pack meeting the following Friday and Deacon interviews the day after (for those in the Religious Emblem program who may need time to complete their work) we think moving the skating to a later date made sense.  Thanks for understanding.

Join us for the Winter Lock-in on Friday, January 11th at 7:00 pm in the Social Level. Families are invited for the Pack Meeting and a movie with treats. Scouts (and adults) are invited to stay the night. (Please eat dinner before arriving.)

Agenda:
  • 7pm Pack meeting (awards, etc)
  • 7:30pm Scout activity
  • 8pm Movie (with popcorn)
  • 10pm Lights out
  • 7am Donuts
  • 8am Leave for home

Things to bring if you are staying overnight:
  • sleeping bag
  • air mattress or pad, something to sleep on
  • pajamas
  • toothbrush/toothpaste
  • pillow
  • flashlight
  • earplugs (snoring defense for adults)

Since this is an overnight event, Class A uniforms (blues and neckerchief) are not necessary – the yellow pack t-shirts (Class Bs) are fine for the Lock-in on Friday. Also, a parent must stay with their scout if they are sleeping in the Social Level.  Again, only scouts can stay overnight, not their siblings, so that our group doesn't get unmanageable :O) Thanks for your understanding...
